Homebody No More!

I'm still working on posts from Christmas and everything that's happened since. But I wanted to quickly blog about this past week while I was thinking about it. I have pictures, but I don't feel like uploading them at the moment. They'll have to come later.

Ever since Wednesday, I've had such a fantastic week. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that Allisyn and I did a lot of socializing and got out of the apartment quite a bit. So here's what we did:

Wednesday:
Alli and I walked up to campus to meet up with Beth and have lunch with her. It was my first time back to campus since becoming an alumna. :) Anyway, after we ate lunch, Brea and Addie showed up too. So we let the girls wander all over the Wilkinson Center while we followed them. They had a great time! It was so much fun to watch them interact with each other. They are such cute girls!!
That evening Kandis called to just catch me up on what's happening in her life. It was so nice to chat with her for awhile! She's definitely one of my favorite people, so talking to her on the phone made my great day even better!

Thursday:
Maui and her little boy Trae came over for a play date! It was so fun to talk to Maui for a while and watch our cute kids play together. We decided we're going to do these play dates a lot more often, especially since we'll both be moving away in the next few months.

Friday:
Alli and I went on a walk to the apartment where J.J. and I lived our first year of marriage because that's where one of the girls I visit teach lives. She has a cute little baby, I think about 3 months old. Alli liked watching him.

After visiting teaching, I walked Alli over to the library where we went to Toddler Time. I happened to see a woman who used to be in our ward. She had her four kids with her, and one was her adorable new baby. We were able to talk for a few minutes while the kids were occupied with Toddler Time. Allisyn and I checked out some books and a few movies.

Saturday:
Friday night, Mom Despain and Evan flew in from Oregon. Saturday morning, they came over to babysit Allisyn so J.J. and I could go to the temple. It was so wonderful to spend that time with J.J. And Allisyn had a great time- she loves playing with Evan. After we got back, we (Mom D., Evan, Angela, Trent, Nadia, J.J., Alli, and me) went to lunch at Slab Pizza- so yummy! Mom D. had  to run a couple of errands and I went along with her. And then all of us went to the last BYU basketball game of the season. We played Portland and won! Alli really enjoyed it, until the end when it got really loud. Afterwards, we went to Subway in the Cougar Eat for dinner. Mom and Evan had to catch a flight back to Oregon, so they dropped Angela and me at home and headed off to Salt Lake.

After J.J. got home from work, I asked him to watch Anne of Green Gables with me. The movie is based on one of my absolute favorite books, and they did a really great job staying true to the book. I had checked out the movie from the library and couldn't wait to watch it. J.J. was such a good sport to watch the movie with me. After it was over, we started talking about how we usually watch girly movies and TV (like the Food Network*..haha). J.J. said, "The next time you're pregnant it had better be a boy! If it's me and three girls, I'll have to start spending one day a month at Cabela's or something!" Hahaha!

Sunday:
We went to Stake Conference in the afternoon. I really enjoyed it. There was one talk in particular, by Elder Paul E. Koelliker of the Quorum of the Seventy, that I think has really helped me understand how to go about deciding what law school we should go to. It was just nice to here some wonderful counsel and be spiritually uplifted, especially after attending the temple the day before.

Basically I felt happy for those five days. I really think the main reason was that I was socializing with people and doing things outside of our apartment. I'm definitely going to do a lot better with setting up play dates, etc.- especially since we'll be moving somewhat soon. I want to spend as much time with my friends here in Utah as I can before we move across the country.

*And speaking of the Food Network.. I'm watching Cupcake Wars while blogging.. It's a good thing J.J. isn't here! Haha.
